Budget Amendment to Split Event Tickets

DC Council member proposes solution to ticket disputes

One D.C. Council member wants to put an end, once and for all, to city leaders’ stadium ticket tiff.

Jack Evans (Ward 2) sent a budget amendment to his colleagues, proposing that they split tickets to Nationals Park and Verizon Center evenly among the mayor and council members.

Ticket disputes among city leaders have made headlines in recent years. Some council members criticized Chairman Kwame Brown last year with how he handed out tickets to Verizon Center events.

Perhaps the biggest story came three years ago, when then-Mayor Adrian Fenty refused to share baseball tickets with council members for more than a month.
