Several people were hurt Friday night when a trolley bus crashed near the National Mall.
The accident happened about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of 14th Street and Independence Avenue. There were 20 people on the trolley when it collided with a van.
Eight riders were taken to the hospital with bumps and bruises. It's not clear what caused the accident.
Several streets were closed as hazmat crews secured a propane tank that broke in the accident.
