Rwandan Teen Visiting DC Area Missing From Conference Center

Jackson Nzarubara was visiting the D.C. area with a student group

A teenage boy visiting the D.C. area from Rwanda went missing from the same Maryland conference center from which another foreign teenager disappeared before being found in Canada recently.

Jackson Nzarubara, 17, was visiting the D.C. area with a student group, Montgomery County Police said Wednesday. Chaperones last saw the teen about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the National 4-H Conference Center at 7100 Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Police say Nzarubara is 6 feet tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and a goatee.

He was last seen wearing a black headband, a hoodie with a Mickey Mouse graphic on the front, gray Adidas pants, white tennis shoes and a black jacket with gray lines on the sleeves and gray lettering on the front. He may also be carrying a black suitcase and a red backpack.

Nzarubara is unfamiliar with the area, police said.

Anyone who has information on his whereabouts was asked to call the Montgomery County Police Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400 or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.

Last month, a teen visiting from Iraq disappeared from the same conference center and was later found in Canada.

That boy, Abdalla Ahmed, was last seen at the National 4-H Conference Center on July 30. Ahmed was found safe in Canada five days later. Police declined to give more information on Ahmed.
