Rock the Vote

Mayor Adrian Fenty has the reputation as the go-go mayor. There's video of Mayor Fenty getting down with the Junkyard Band. And Mayor Fenty pocket-vetoed a bill that would make it illegal to pay people to vote over fears that D.C. Council Chair and mayoral candidate Vince Gray was trying to put a stop to Mayor Fenty's go-go concerts, which have served to register low-income black voters.

But it was Gray who was enjoying the go-go beat on Saturday night. The Washington Examiner's Katy Adams and Nikki Schwab report that both Gray and D.C. Council member Kwame Brown made an appearance at Chuck Brown's 74th birthday party.

Chuck Brown, the godfather of go-go, headlined and hosted his birthday party at the 9:30 Club. According to the Yeas & Nays columnists, Gray was dressed in time for the end of summer -- wearing an all-white suit to the party.
