Robin Hood Pool Damaged, Needs Repair Help

The Robin Hood pool is normally the center of activity for the Silver Spring community. But the pool won’t open this summer after problems were discovered as it was being prepped for the season.

Floodwaters from heavy rains damaged the deck and pool. Repairs to everything are estimated to cost as high as over $1 million.

Normally, the pool and its facilities are covered by insurance. However, the pool’s board of directors stated the claim was denied because seepage and earth movement were not covered as losses in the policy.

Other area clubs have opened their pools to the members who would normally swim at Robin Hood. Swim teams have held raffles and contributions are coming in.

Members are grateful, but can’t wait to be “home.”

If you want to help Robin Hood defray repair costs, they have created a donation page.
