Maryland is going forward with plans to widen roads around the new Walter Reed facility in Bethesda, WTOP.com reported.
The widening is part of improvements to ease new traffic from the Base Realignment and Closure Plan. Traffic to the campus is expected to double to a million visitors per year.
"The road work includes widening Connecticut Avenue/Md.185 northbound from Manor Road almost to the Capital Beltway and widening Cedar Lane near Route 355."
