Remains May Be of Missing Md. Student

Student from Frederick missing for more than a month

Authorities say they've recovered human remains they believe are those of a New York college student from Maryland.

George Delany, 21, from Frederick, Md., had been missing for more than a month.

New York State police told local media outlets that two hikers found the remains Sunday evening in a wooded area in the northern Steuben County town of Cohocton, 45 miles south of Rochester.

Troopers believe the remains are those of Delany. The junior at Rochester Institute of
Technology was reported missing after he left his suburban Rochester apartment March 12 and never returned.

His vehicle was found March 13 nearby in Wayland.

A medical examiner is conducting an autopsy to positively identify the remains.

Police are expected to release more about the case Monday morning.
