Record Number of Adults Have Never Been Married: Report

More and more people are running away from the altar -- well, sort of.

According to a new report by the Pew Research Center, there's a record number of Americans who have never married.

In 2012, one-in-five adults age 25 and older had never been married. That's compared to one in 10 adults back in 1960.

The Pew Research Center analysis found adults are choosing to marry later in life; the average age at the time of a first marriage is 27 for women and 29 for men.

The number of adults cohabiting and raising children outside of marriage has also increased.
