Wind Gusts Could Reach 40 MPH on Saturday

The Christmas forecast shows sun and chilly temperatures

After an unseasonably warm welcome to winter, cooler temperatures and wind are blowing into the D.C. area.

Wind gusts could reach up to 40 mph at times on Saturday. Breezes are forecast to slow down by the evening as temps cool into the 20s and 30s.

Sunday is forecast to begin with sunshine, but expect some light rain showers late in the evening.

Christmas Eve is forecast to be sunny with temperatures in the 40s. Temperatures stay in the upper 40s Christmas Day with light wind.

The first day of winter felt more like spring with rain and a high temperature of 66 in the D.C. area.
