Proposal Would Redraw DC School Boundaries

A D.C. committee is considering making changes that could impact where thousands of students go to school.

The Washington Post reported the Deputy Mayor for Education proposed to redraw school boundaries for D.C. Public Schools. A committee of 20 people will consider three policy changes to present to Mayor Vincent Gray.

Gray is expected to make his final decision in September and the changes would take effect in the Fall of 2015.

D.C. Council members Muriel Bowser and David Catania did not comment on the proposals. Both are running for the mayor post.
