Virginia DUI Driver Hits 8 Cars, Hurts 2 People, Police Say

The Dumfries, Virginia, woman received a minor head injury as she slammed into cars, police said

A woman driving under the influence Wednesday night in Prince William County, Virginia, hit eight cars, hurt two drivers and tried to assault an officer who was arresting her, police say.

Aaliyah Mahasin Saahir, 35, was arrested after Prince William County police responded about 6:50 p.m. to a report of someone driving eratically near Dale Boulevard and Minnieville Road in Woodbridge.

Multiple callers said the driver of a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban had hit several cars. Saahir, of Dumfries, was found in the disabled vehicle near Caton Hill and Minnieville roads, police said.

Saahir initially refused to exit the SUV, police said. She tried to hit an officer as she was arrested, officials said.

She was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and "suspected PCP," police said.

Two drivers of vehicles police say Saahir hit were taken to a hospital. Saahir was treated for a minor head injury and also taken to a hospital.

She was charged with five counts of hit and run, in addition to attempted assault and battery of a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, reckless driving and driving without a license.

Saahir is being held without bond and is due in court Dec. 13. Police said this was her second DUI offense in the past decade.
