Woodbridge, Va. -- Prince William County residents tired of clogged roadways and trains could soon opt for a commuter ferry to get to work.
For the third time in eight years, county officials are exploring a proposal to launch a ferry service along the Potomac River, giving commuters another route to Washington. They will discuss the idea with investors and water transportation experts during a summit planned for next week at the Occoquan Harbor Marina.
As part of the revived effort, about 75 people will take a ferry ride Wednesday to the Navy Yard to again test trip timings and allow supporters of the plan to display the service to others.
