Video: Prince George's Firefighters Battle Blaze at Recycling Center

Firefighters worked into the night Saturday to put out a huge fire at an industrial recycling center in the Cheverly area of Prince George's County, Maryland.

Video shows huge flames and thick black clouds of smoke shooting through the roof of the building in the 5600 block of Columbia Park Road.

Firefighters arrived to put out the flames about 6:30 p.m., Prince George's County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady said on Twitter.

Brady said the firefighters had to leave the building and fought the flames from the outside as the building started to collapse.

Fire department personnel will remain at the scene through Sunday and into Monday, Brady said.

The fire's cost is estimated at $8 million and one firefighter sustained minor injuries, according to Brady.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
