WASHINGTON -- The double homicide of a couple in Fort Washington and the shooting death of a man in northwest D.C. could be connected, police said.
A man was shot several times and killed at the corner of 13th and T streets -- not far from the U Street Metro Station -- just after midnight, police said.
After 1 a.m., Prince George's County police were called to the 4000 block of Oaklawn Road in Fort Washington. Officers found a man and a woman had been shot. The woman, 48-year-old Audrey Bryant, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man, 44-year-old Keith Jordan, died at an area hospital. Both had been shot multiple times.
"We had an incident, a murder, in the streets of Washington, that led to another set of murders in Prince George's County," Prince George's County Police Chief Roberto Hylton said. "We're not prepared at this time to tell you when and how this scenario actually began. It may have began at that point or maybe before that incident."
The D.C. victim was 25-year-old rapper Carl Gray, who performed Monday night at an open mic at a U Street club Pure. Friends of Bryant said her son also was a rapper and was with Gray Monday night.
Gray is known to friends and family as Ashton. His family released a statement Tuesday saying in part, "On Monday night, Ashton was doing exactly what he loved to do, performing some of his favorite rap songs with his friends at open mic night at one of the local clubs in DC. Unfortunately, his precious life was taken away, returning to the club after walking some family friends to their car. That's the type of person Ashton was, he always made sure that everyone was safe at the end of the day. Ashton will be missed dearly by his family and friends."

Investigators say there is no evidence there was any type of fight or disagreement at the nightclub itself.
Police in D.C. and Prince George's County believe there all multiple culprits who are armed and dangerous.
