Pregnant Woman Loses Baby After Stabbing

Mother said to be in stable condition

A pregnant woman lost her baby and suffered serious injuries after being stabbed in the stomach overnight at a home in the 4200 block of 9th Street in southeast Washington.

Police said the victim was eight months pregnant. The woman is recovering at Howard University Hospital.

The infant, identified as Kuron Rashad Hunt, was delivered and was later pronounced dead.

The neighbor who called 911 told News4's Erika Gonzalez that the woman said she was sleeping on her couch when a stranger entered her apartment and stabbed her.

Police said there were no apparent signs of forced entry. No information about a suspect has been released.

This case is currently undetermined pending the results of an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
