Lorde Headlines Saturday's InfieldFest Ahead of Preakness Stakes

The middle race of the Triple Crown and Grammy-winning artist Lorde will share the limelight at Pimlico Race Course this Saturday.

Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome is also the favorite to win Saturday's 139th Preakness --  but the excitement of the race isn't the only thing bringing crowds to Pimlico. Breakout star Lorde will headline InfieldFest, belting out hits like her chart-topping "Royals." Switchfoot, Eli Young Band, Sundy Best and Go Go Gadjet are also set to perform.

Check out the full lineup here:

  • Go Go Gadjet: 8:15 a.m.
  • Sundy Best: 10:15 a.m.
  • Frank Walker & Glenn Morrison: 11:15 a.m.
  • Eli Young Band: 12:15 p.m.
  • Nas: 1:30 p.m.
  • Switchfoot: 2:45 p.m.
  • Lorde: 4 p.m.

This year, the event will debut the Mug and Vine Lounge at the Top of the Stretch, a VIP area offering wine, private restrooms, a jumbo TV screen, picnic lounge and more.

General admission tickets for InfieldFest are $70; tickets that bundle access to the Mug and Vine Lounge are $140. See all ticket info here.

THE RACE: California Chrome has already settled into his temporary digs in Baltimore. His home away from home is stall 40 -- the same stall that housed previous triple Crown winners like Affirmed, Seattle Slew and Secretariat.

The Associated Press reported that the Kentucky Derby winner tested the track at Pimlico Race Course for the first time Tuesday and took to it like a kid in a sandbox.

"He seemed to handle the track just great," said assistant trainer Alan Sherman, the AP reported. "He just jogged but he was happy. He's really happy right now. So that's a good thing." Read more on California Chrome here.

Tickets for the race are still available; check out your options here.
