Pr. George's Fire Collapses House Wall

No injuries reported in Saturday morning blaze

No injuries were reported after Prince George's County firefighters battled a blaze that collapsed the side wall of a home in Cheltenham Saturday.

The fire broke out shortly before 9 a.m. in the garage of the two-story, single-family home in the 9800 block of Spinnaker Street. Firefighters were instructed to remain outside and battle the blaze from the exterior.

The fire was finally extinguished at around 9:50 a.m. Investigators say that the home's occupants, a family of four adults and two children, have been accounted for. Authorities say the family will be moved out of their home and assisted in finding new living space by the county's Citizen Services Unit.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and fire loss estimates are still being tabulated.
