Potomac High School Teacher, Linda Burke, Accused of Inappropriate Conduct

During an investigation into her alleged misconduct with a student, a Potomac High School teacher assaulted a police officer, officials said.

According to Virginia State Police, Potomac High School teacher Linda Burke was being interviewed by a special agent Wednesday regarding the misconduct allegations, during which she assaulted the officer.

Burke was charged with one count of felony assault on a police officer and one count of obstruction of justice. She has since been released from custody.

State Police say both the misconduct and the assault incidents remain under investigation.

Burke teaches english as a second language. 

According to a letter sent to Potomac High School parents from principal Michael Wright, Burke has been placed on administrative leave pending the investigations.
