Potential Burglary Ring Targeting Small Businesses in Prince William County

Four businesses in Woodbridge, Virginia, have been burglarized in a possible crime ring, according to Prince William County Police.

La Despensa Familiar Grocery, Marumsco Cleaners on Route 1, a Pizza Hut at Dillingham Square and Prime Cuts Barber Shop on Potomac Mills Road suffered from what police call a “smash and grab burglary,” Prince William County Police said.

At La Despensa Familiar Grocery, the cash register was destroyed and all the money taken, police said. In the process, a burglar cut himself, leaving behind some blood, and was caught on one of the store's many surveillance cameras.

At Marumsco Cleaners, a shopping cart was used to smash the front door, police said. The cash register with all the money inside was stolen, according to John Yang, owner of the cleaners.

At the Pizza Hut, the cash register was stolen as well, police said.

At Prime Cuts Barber Shop Saturday morning, the door was found smashed, the cash register was broken, and all the money had been taken, according to Frank Torres, owner of the shop. The back office was also damaged, police said.

Police are uncertain if the burglaries are a one man operation or a burglary ring targeting small businesses. Police ask anyone with knowledge about the burglaries to come forward.
