Attorneys are returning to court for a hearing in the case of murdered Washington intern Chandra Levy.
Prosecutors and defense attorneys are expected in court Monday for additional post-trial proceeding in the case of Ingmar Guandique, who was convicted of murdering Levy in November 2010 and sentenced to 60 years in prison.
They're expected to discuss how much more information can be made public about a key prosecution witness who could be discredited.
That witness, Armando Morales, testified that Guandique confessed to Levy's murder while in prison.
"I killed that [expletive], but I didn't rape her," Morales said Guandique told him in 2006, during Guandique's 2010 trial. "He told me he saw her walking in the park. He hid in the bushes... She was alone... She had one of those waist pouches... He told me he ran up, grabbed her from behind, pulled her off the trail... She was fighting. She was struggling."
However, another piece of testimony by Morales, a convicted gang leader and prison inmate, was discredited. Morales claimed that he'd never given information to law enforcement agencies in the past.
It was revealed during a hearing in May that Morales gave information to the gang unit at a high-security federal prison in Atlanta about drugs and weapons trafficking inside the high-security federal prison, reported News4's Mark Segraves.
During the hearing in May, Morales' public defender said he lied multiple times under oath, and the prosecution either knew or should have known at the time of the trial that Morales was lying, reported Segraves.
Judge Gerald Fisher said "there's no doubt" that this information was relevant.

Defense attorneys have said they intend to request a new trial for Guandique based on the information about Morales, whose testimony was instrumental in Guandique's conviction.
The 2001 disappearance of Levy, 24, international news after she was romantically linked to then-California Rep. Gary Condit.
Her remains were found in D.C.'s Rock Creek Park the following year.
