Police in Prince William County are searching for a BB gun after a middle school student reportedly brought one to a bus stop Wednesday morning.
Officers were initially called to Potomac Middle School on Panther Pride Drive for a report of a student with a gun.
Authorities say school officials determined the student had actually brought a BB gun to the bus stop and thrown it into a wooded area before getting on the bus.
The BB gun was not on school property at any time.
Police are currently working to located the gun.
