Police Shut Down Café in District Heights

Officials say the café will remain closed pending the outcome of an appeals hearing.

Prince George’s County Police shut down a District Heights café after the establishment allegedly violated a zoning requirement.

Back on February 6, a shooting took place at the Rose Café, previously known as Star Dust Lounge, on the 5400 block of Marlboro Pike. The café was then closed on February 8 for allegedly operating without the required use and occupancy permit and for posing an imminent danger to the public.

A zoning hearing examiner allowed the business to reopen on March 1 under specific conditions, including a requirement that the business end all adult entertainment related activities. Police say the business continued to operate outside its use and occupancy permit on March 9 however. The business was then shut down on Saturday.

Officials say the café will remain closed pending the outcome of an appeals hearing.
