Suspect Sought in Assault of 14-Year-Old Girl

The assault occurred Wednesday evening in Southeast D.C.

Police are seeking help in identifying suspects in the attempted sex assault of a minor Wednesday evening.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department Youth Investigation Division said that a 14-year-old girl was assaulted by two male suspects in an alley of the 1600 block of 16th Street SE about 6 p.m.

Police arrested 38-year-old Khaifani Johnson of southeast D.C. later that evening but are still looking for the other suspect. Johnson was charged with assault with intent to commit first-degree child sex abuse.

The second suspect is described as a black man with a stocky build who is between 5-feet-10-inches and 6-feet-2 inches tall. He is described as having long, black dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a red T-shirt with blue jeans.
