Police, FBI Search for “Forever Loyal Bandit”

The FBI and Fairfax County Police are searching for a man believed to be responsible for three bank robberies and an attempted bank robbery in the Falls Church area.

The robberies occurred between June and August 2014 at banks along the Leesburg Pike corridor, the FBI said.

The bank robber has been dubbed the "Forever Loyal Bandit" for wearing a white T-shirt during two of the robberies with the words "Forever Loyal" printed across the chest. Police describe him as a black man who is about 30 years old. Pictures of the robber show him wearing a black baseball hat pulled low over his face. The word "VIBES" is printed on the hat in one robbery; later pictures show a hat without the word, police said.

The first robbery happened at the Capital One Bank at 5851 Crossroads Center in Falls Church on June 27. Another Capital One Bank located at 6367 Seven Corners Center was robbed on July 21. The third robbery happened at the SunTrust Bank at 5821 Crossroads Center on Aug. 9. The suspect also attempted to rob the BB&T Bank at 5871 Leesburg Pike on August 15, police said.

Police said they received numerous suspicious person calls from area banks during the same time period.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the bank robber.

Law enforcement is asking for anyone with information to call the FBI at (202) 278-2000, Fairfax County Police at (703) 691-2131 or Crime Solvers at (866) 411-TIPS/8477.
