Missing 14-Year-Old Girl and Her Baby Daughter Found Safe

A 14-year-old girl and her 7-week-old baby have been found safe, according to police.

Revita Michelle Murphy and her daughter, Ayana Murphy, were last seen in the 80 block of Joyceton Way in Upper Marlboro getting into an unknown gray vehicle with a female, Prince George's County detectives said.

A woman told News4's Chris Gordon she is Revita's foster parent, and was the one who reported them missing. She said Revita told her she was going to a girlfriend's house.

"I miss her and I love her," she said. "She knows that."

Just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, police announced the two had been found safe. Foul play was not suspected in their disappearance.

"Certainly a 14-year-old girl out and away from her home a long period of time, that in and of itself is concerning, particularly with a small child, even in the best of circumstances it's difficult to take care of a 7-week-old child," Prince George's County police Lt. William Alexander said. "If you're doing it sort of on the run, trying to -- what we think -- purposely be away from your home, that's exceedingly difficult for everyone involved."
