Police, School Officials Investigate Incident at Dunbar HS

Police and school officials in Washington, D.C., are investigating a report of inappropriate conduct between a student and staff member at Dunbar High School.

School officials said they were notified about the incident yesterday. They said it happened last fall but would not specify what may have happened because the investigation is ongoing.

Dunbar Principal Stephen Jackson sent a letter home with students.

"Metropolitan Police were immediately notified and have begun an investigation which remains open and ongoing," the letter stated. "The staff member has been removed from Dunbar while the investigation continues. Counseling and support will be available to students if needed. Your student’s safety remains my top priority. You have my commitment that we will do everything possible to ensure that Dunbar is an environment where all students can learn and teachers can teach."
