Police Revise Description of Hit-and-Run Vehicle

The Charles County Sheriff's Office has revised its description of a vehicle that hit a man in a wheelchair and left without stopping.

Deputies had said after Friday night's accident in Waldorf that witnesses said the vehicle was white. Officials now say the vehicle may be a different color and has damage to its front end rendering one of its headlights inoperative.

Authorities say a 34-year-old Waldorf man in a wheelchair was trying to cross the parkway when a car struck him. The driver then drove away. The man was taken to the Prince George's Hospital Center, where he is in stable condition.
