Police Release New Surveillance Video in July 4 Fatal Beating

In their efforts to find out who beat a deli owner to death and robbed his store July 4, D.C. police have released a new surveillance video from two hours prior to the incident.

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the individual seen in the video; they are not calling the man in the video a suspect.

James Oh, 76, of Rockville owned The Corner Grocery & Deli in the 5500 block of Colorado Avenue NW. The store was robbed by two people, seen in a earlier video released by police, and Oh was beaten. He died four days later.

The men -- wearing hooded sweatshirts, masks and dark pants -- pushed Oh's wife to the floor behind the register and grabbed $3,000 cash.

Neighbors around the area said Oh, affectionately known as Mr. James, and his wife ran the store for 20 years.

Police were able to locate the getaway vehicle -- a stolen Jeep.

Anyone who can identify this person, has information regarding the stolen Jeep or has knowledge of this incident is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099.
