Police Release Composite Sketch of Assault Suspect

Arlington County police have released a composite sketch of a man who was seen loitering near a parking garage in Shirlington, just two hours before a woman was attacked and raped in the area.

The assault happened at 10:41 p.m. Nov. 2 in the area of S. Randolph Street and 31st Street South. The victim told police she was placing items in her car when a man approached her from behind her, grabbed her and raped her. 

The suspect was last seen running southbound on 31st Street South.

Two hours before the assault, a man was seen loitering in a parking garage in the area. A witness who saw the man told police he was 19 to 21 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 150 pounds. The man was wearing skinny jeans, a white t-shirt, a red hooded sweatshirt and Converse-style sneakers at the times. 

The victim described a man of a similar build to police, but she said he was wearing a white t-shirt at the time of the assault.
