Police Probe Woman's Severe Beating

Home invasion left 70-year-old woman in critical condition

Police in Prince George's County are trying to identify a person of interest in a home invasion on Friday that left a 70-year-old woman in critical condition.

Police said a person broke into the woman's home on Drum Avenue in Capitol Heights between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. and viciously beat her. The woman suffered bleeding on the brain, a broken eye socket and a broken nose.

Surveillance video from the area shows a person walking near the scene at 6:12 a.m. at the intersection of Drum Avenue and Larchmont Avenue.
