The CVS manager found dead outside his store in Warrenton, Virginia, last week was the victim of a homicide, police said.
Rex Mack Olsen, 64, was found dead near a dumpster outside the store on Blackwall Road about 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, July 26.
Warrenton Police said Friday that a gun was used. Prosecutors declined to say whether Olsen was shot.
Autopsy results are pending to confirm Olsen's cause of death.
Police said there was no threat to public safety.
Olsen, who lived in Reva, Virginia, worked for CVS for 25 years, and had managed the Warrenton store since 2008, the company said.
