Police: Md. Woman Steals Boots, Pepper Sprays Mall Employees

A Baltimore woman is facing several charges after a robbery and pepper spray attack at Arundel Mills Mall.

Anne Arudel County police said 24-year-old Cierra Scott stole a pair of boots from Off Broadway Shoes just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday. After she was confronted by the store's manager, Scott allegedly pulled out a can of pepper spray, sprayed the manager and fled the scene.

The spray also hit 25 to 30 other shoppers. Some customers had to be treated by paramedics.

When she was approached by a mall security guard outside the mall, police said Scott threatened the security guard with a small knife and pepper sprayed him.

He was able to disarmed her, and turned the pepper spray on her, authorities added.

Scott was charged with robbery, theft, reckless endangerment and several counts of second degree assault.
