Police: Masked Intruders Killed Maryland Man

Three sought in slaying of man police believe was targeted

BOWIE, Md. -- Prince George's County police are looking for three masked men they say broke into a Bowie home and killed a man while holding his family at gunpoint.

Tyrone Richardson, 39, had suffered trauma to his upper body and was dead when police arrived at his house on Marleigh Drive early Sunday, police said. Officers found the rest of Richardson's family unharmed.

Investigators think that Richardson was targeted and that the incident was "isolated," police spokeswoman Cpl. Erica Johnson said.

The intruders, two armed with handguns, left with a Mercedes-Benz S430 with an S500 placard affixed to it with the Maryland dealer plate number 1A88982.

They're also looking for a black Chrysler 300 or Cadillac that followed the Mercedes out of the subdivision, police said.
