Police say a 36-year-old Gainesville, Va. man was left in the woods Saturday morning with his feet and hands bound.
The man told police he was driving home around 11:30 p.m. the night prior when he noticed a car behind him following him, flashing its lights. The man pulled over and said several occupants of the car following him got out, and assaulted him, one with what he believes to have been a box cutter. The victim told police he was struck with an object that made him unconscious.
He said he woke up several hours later in the woods with his hands and feet bound. Officials said he was able to free himself and contact police. He was picked up along Daves Store Lane and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police said the victim was not able to describe his assailants.
