Police-Involved Shooting Prince George's County

A man is in critical condition after Prince George's police officers shot him several times Tuesday night. Police say the man fired first.

D.C. and Prince George's police officers responded to the 800 block of Southern Ave. SE along the District/Maryland border after they received several calls about a man who was walking through an apartment complex, firing a gun through the air.

When officers arrived around 10:30 p.m., they found him between two buildings. Authorities say the officers told him to stop firing the gun, but he refused and instead shot at them.

Two Prince George's police officers fired on the man, who was then rushed to a hospital.

D.C. police will be in charge of the investigation.
