D.C. police are investigating a fatal shooting just a few blocks from Military Road in Northwest.
Officers say they arrived at the scene near Ninth and Sheridan streets around 9 p.m. Saturday and found 31-year-old Demetrius Eccles dead on the ground.
Eccles body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
