Police Investigate Death of Newborn Found Unconscious at L'Enfant Metro

A newborn baby was pronounced dead at Children's National Medical Center Wednesday morning after being rushed from a Metro station.

D.C. Fire and EMS was called to L'Enfant after 8 a.m. for a report of an unconscious baby. Medics attempted to resuscitate the child.

There was no sign of trauma, but the cause of death is awaiting the autopsy, according to the fire department.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating.

The child was four days old, according to Metro.
