Police in the District of Columbia charged a man after an accident at a Northwest library.
The driver was speeding in an alley behind the Mount Pleasant interim library in the 3100 Block of Mt. Pleasant Street when he crashed into the building's fire exit, police said.
Bricks tumbled into a pile on the ground, but no one inside was injured.
The library was closed for the day.
Police have arrested the driver of the SUV and charged hime with driving while intoxicated.
