Police Charge 2 Men in Interrupted Burglary

MCLEAN, Va. -- Fairfax County police have charged two men they say were interrupted while burglarizing a McLean home.

The homeowner arrived at her home in the 7200 block of Churchill Road at 11:15 a.m. Monday to find an unknown vehicle in her driveway and then saw two men run away.

A police search dog helped officers find 18-year-old Walter Viera, of Arlington, hiding in some bushes in the neighborhood two hours later. He was charged with burglary, grand larceny and possession of burglar's tools.

Investigators found the second suspect, 19-year-old Angel Carrentino, at about 11:30 p.m. Monday near Balls Hill Road and Georgetown Pike, police said.

Investigators believe Carrentino broke into another home while fleeing police, authorities said. He was charged with two counts of burglary, grand larceny and possession of burglar's tools.
