Family Moved To Temporary Shelter

Manassas City Police are investigating an accident in which a police car struck another vehicle and a parked car before careening into a house Friday evening.

Investigators say the accident happened at around 8:50 Friday evening when the unidentified officer lost control of his vehicle while responding to an emergency call for assistance. After colliding with the two other vehicles, the car struck a single family home on Grant Avenue.

According to InsideNova, the officer and two others were injured in the incident. All three people were briefly hospitalized at Prince William Hospital and later released.

The family that occupies the home was relocated to a temporary shelter after an inspection by the Manassas City Fire Marshall's Office determined that the house was not safe for occupancy until repairs were completed and a further inspeciton made.
