    Darius Andre Jennings, 20, was arrested in connection with a Dec. 7 carjacking.

    Metro Transit Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a Dec. 7 carjacking at the New Carrollton Metro station. 

    Darius Andre Jennings, 20, is accused of approaching a vehicle on the first level of the New Carrollton parking garage while an adult female was unloading her child from the back seat.

    The suspect then displayed a handgun and directed the victim to leave her purse and exit with her child. He proceeded to steal her vehicle. 

    Police named Jennings as their suspect Dec. 16. 

    Jennings surrendered to police Tuesday morning. He is expected to face armed carjacking, carjacking, armed robbery, robbery, theft and first-degree assault charges in Prince George's County in connection with the incident.
