Police Arrest Second Suspect in Armed Robbery That Left One Gunman Dead

Victim struggled with one gunman before shooting and killing him

Police have arrested 21-year-old Jaren Holley on Saturday, The Washington Post reported.

Prosecutors charged Holley with burglary while armed, and he remains in custody until his next court hearing next month.

Police said Holley and Joel Johnson forced their way into a man’s apartment in the 4200 block of First Street in Southeast Washington on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

The 52-year-old man wrestled the gun away from Johnson in a violent struggle. The man then shot and killed Johnson.

Johnson was one of four men charged with the murder of D.C. principal Brian Betts in 2010.
