Police: Alcohol, Speed Contribute to Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Police said speed and alcohol contributed to the fatal motorcycle accident that killed a man early Saturday morning.

Calvert County Sheriff’s Office investigators said Robert Allen Coleman, Jr., 37, from Annapolis, Maryland, was traveling on Cross Point Drive in Owings, Maryland, when he lost control during a turn. The motorcycle went off the roadway and hit a brick mailbox shortly after midnight Saturday.

Coleman was transported to the Calvert Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries.

A crash investigation revealed alcohol and speed to be contributing factors in the incident.
