Plane Lands Short of Runway in Mont. Co.

A twin-engine plane had a rough landing at the Montgomery County Airpark this evening. The plane stopped short of the runway, landing on the grass, said Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.

The four people who were aboard the plane -- two adults and two children -- were not hurt in the Gaithersburg incident.

The plane is registered to a business in Wilmington, Del.

According to NBC Washington meteorologist Doug Kammerer, the weather in the area had been reported as freezing rain at the time. It is unknown if the weather played a part in the plane's difficult landing.
