Plane Strikes Deer During Landing

Deer's condition not known

STEVENSVILLE, Md. -- A small plane struck a deer while landing at the Bay Bridge Airport in Stevensville, Maryland State Police said.

The Cirrus GTS plane was landing just before midnight Tuesday when it hit the deer.
 

Police said pilot Franklin Jewell Fluharty of Salisbury was not injured. There was no word on the deer's condition.
 

Police said the aircraft sustained minor damage but was disabled. The runway has since been cleared for aircraft.
