An 89-year-old woman was hospitalized Wednesday after being bitten by a pit bull in Pasadena, Md., Anne Arundel County fire officials said.
The victim was in the backyard of a home in the 200 block of Arundel Road when the dog jumped up on the side of the fence and bit her upper arm about 3:25 p.m., fire officials said.
The wound was considered critical but non-life-threatening.
The dog was quarantined. A bite report was taken, Anne Arundel County Police said, and the dog was taken to Anne Arundel County Animal Control for an assessment.
No charges have been filed.
