Person Struck by DC Metro Train at Mt. Vernon Square Station

A DC Metro spokesperson said a person was struck by a train at the Mount Vernon Square station Sunday afternoon.

The spokesperson said it does appear to be intentional by the victim. They did not have an identity on the person, but did say it was an adult man who was hit.

The victim was transported to a local hospital.

Green and Yellow Line trains bypassed the Mt. Vernon station for a short time. Trains resumed service after the scene was cleared, but there are delays due to single track passage.

Passengers are encouraged to use the Gallery Place/Chinatown station.
