Pepper Spray Used in Fight on Train: Witnesses

Metro transit police are investigating a fight between a couple of young people on board an Orange Line train at Metro Center.

At about 3:30 p.m., two young people got into an argument which escalated into a fight, according to witnesses. At one point, one of them pulled a can of pepper spray and sprayed it at the other.

The participants in the fight and the group of people they were with had dispersed by the time police arrived.

Metro spokesman Steven Taubenkibel told the Associated Press there were no reports of weapons involved or any injuries.

Earlier this week, video of another apparent fight on a train surfaced online, raising concerns about youth violence on Metro.
