Pepco Blames Rain for Northwest D.C. Power Outage

Hundreds of Pepco customers in northwest D.C. spent part of Thanksgiving without power thanks to this week’s storm.

The rain may have damaged underground wiring in the area of 11th Street and Park Road, Pepco said.

Crews started working at midnight Tuesday and faced several problems making repairs, Pepco said. They removed 200 feet of underground cable.

Pepco said 296 customers – homes and businesses – were without power.

Pepco said power was restored at about 8:30 p.m.
