Fairfax County police have identified the woman who was fatally struck by two vehicles as she crossed a busy road in Ft. Belvior Monday night.
Laura Lynn Cornelius, 52, of Lorton stepped onto Richmond Highway near Hagel Circle just after 8 p.m. when she was struck by a car.
A second car tried to move out of the way, but was unable to avoid Cornelius.
She was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Fairfax County police say there are no crosswalks in the area where Cornelius was struck.
Both drivers remained at the scene.
Police say the crash remains under investigation.
